Linux Mint 22 Beta Arrives, "Wilma" To Be Supported Until 2029

Linux Mint developers have shared a couple of goodies this week. Not only have they shown off some of the new features coming in Cinnamon 5.8, but they've also released the beta of Linux Mint 22 "Wilma".
Linux Mint 22 is a long term support (LTS) release which will be supported until 2029. It comes with updated software and brings refinements and many new features to make your desktop more efficient and enjoyable to use.
The beta of Linux Mint 22 Wilma arrives ahead of an anticipated stable release in late July/early August (depending on how many bugs, issues, and quirks are found and fixed).
Cinnamon 5.8 to Feature a Redesigned Nemo File Manager
As part of the Linux Mint 22 release, Cinnamon 5.8 will debut a redesigned Nemo file manager that sports a flatter, more modern user interface. It also boasts under-the-hood performance improvements.
Other new features coming to Cinnamon 5.8 include:
- Improved search functionality in Nemo
- New CPU Power Management applet
- Redesigned Blueman Bluetooth applet
- New "Do Not Disturb" mode

To try out the Linux Mint 22 beta, you can download the ISO from the project's website. Please note that this is a beta release and not suitable for production use.
