Kentucky Derby Post Positions Announced
Forte to Start From No. 15 Gate
The 2023 Kentucky Derby post positions were drawn on Monday afternoon, and race favorite Forte will start from the No. 15 gate. This has sparked a debate among bettors as to which horses will benefit or be disadvantaged by their starting positions.
The Kentucky Derby is one of the most prestigious horse races in the world, and the post positions can have a significant impact on the outcome. Horses that start from the inside gates have a slight advantage, while those that start from the outside gates have a slight disadvantage. However, there have been several winners from the outside gates in recent years, so anything is possible.
The Sporting News has the full list of starting positions for the 2023 Kentucky Derby and breaks down the winners from each gate since it was first run in 1875.
The 2023 Kentucky Derby will be held on Saturday, May 6th at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
